Answers to last week’s question of the podcast

Best movie soundtrack? I’ll go first (and this is my genuine answer)… The curious George soundtrack!

Steve Dann – Saturday Night Fever & Grease Also, The Full Monty 46:46

Sam Chilton – Batman Forever soundtrack – movie may have been dodgy but soundtrack is amazing! Still listen to it now! Also shooting fish Is genius! (Lot of time for Curious George!) 46:52

Haidee Ball – The Lost Boys 47:20

Simon Poole – Kevin and Perry Go large 47:23

Mark Newman – It’s Top Gun, end of argument!! 47:26

    John P. W. Cook – Trainspotting 47:31

Stacey Keen – Got to be rock of ages for me 47:34

Christy Mike – TOP GUN 47:37

Caroline Thompson – Grease and Dirty Dancing 47:40

Pádraig Floyd – Get Carter, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, A Clockwork Orange. In that order 47:43

    Tracey Kiernan – Rocky 47:49

David Forsdyke – Top Gun, Rocky, Dirty Dancing, Good morning Vietnam, Footloose There’s too many great soundtracks! 47:51

Karina Marais – The muppets most wanted. 48:23

Nicola Taylor – Top gun soundtrack 49:29

Glenn D May – The Wall or City of Angles  49:33

    Christy Mike – Moana Encanto…….who doesn’t know Bruno 49:36

Jonny Piper – The original Disney Jungle Book  50:12

    Matthew Striebig – Amadeus 50:23

Steve Chilton – Split between Guardians of the Galaxy or Trainspotting – both epic collection of tracks 50:25

Tara Appleton – Lion king for me, I had the tape when I was young and new every song word for word  50:30

Gemma Playford – Mary Poppins 50:37

    Tara Higgins – Trainspotting 50:39

    Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisDaems/status/1501827675454943238

Chris Budd  – The Magnificent Seven. I regular put it on for my writing day. 50:54

Steve Buttercase – If you mean best collection of music soundtrack as opposed to original soundtrack then Baby Driver. For original score, whilst I adore Elmer Bernstein’s score for The Magnificent Seven, I’d go with Ennio Morricone’s beautiful work for “Once Upon A Time In America” 50:58

Darren Cooke – Morricone full stop, pretty much anything 51:29

Charlie Goodman – Transformers: The Movie (1986) It’s got Stan Bush and Weird Al Yankovic. And that heavy metal version of the soundtrack by Lion. I will die like Optimus Prime on this hill. 51:33

Matthew Walne CFP™ – Top Gun, Rocky IV, Lost Boys, Trainspotting and Cars 51:53

Ian Else – I used to think Top Gun, but I think Baby Driver is better now. 52:00

Nathan Jones – I’m not saying this is the best but I always find myself singing along to the Shrek soundtracks… 52:05

Nathan Jones – Goodfellas also has a notable mention and purely from my 90s youth, Above the Rim soundtrack 52:16

Caroline Stuart – Guardians of the Galaxy (1 and 2!), Reservoir Dogs, O Brother and where art thou But I think Moana is the best soundtrack ever made. Ever. 52:25

Claire @theactualclaire – Off the top of my head: Out of Sight, Baby Driver, Pulp Fiction and About a Boy 52:45

Neil Bage – I have so many but will opt for ‘Lord Of The Rings’. Anything by Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman, Rachel Portman, or Ilan Eshkeri works for me. BTW – the soundtracks written for games are as good as movie soundtracks. The OSTs for Halo & Assassin’s Creed are incredible. 52:52

Chris Budd – Red Dead Redemption 2 is another favourite 53:56

Victor Sacks – Pulp Fiction 54:00

Dave Brooks – In no particular order Flash Gordon, Moon, Fantastic Mr Fox, Fistful of dollars and Blade Runner 54:03

But Blade Runner probably remains my go to. Dune isn’t a bad ambient album.

Tony Slimmings – Last of the Mohicans 54:41

Harry Webster – Bad Times at the El Royale – is a brilliant Motown compilation and weirdly very romantic vibes. Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Grosse Point Blank 54:43
Eve Keith – Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. 54:53

Truth About Money® – Highlander. Whole thing by Queen. Freddie Mercury singing New York New York! 54:57

    @keithLMFS – Dirty Dancing 🙂 55:01

Smart Divorce Tamsin – The Greatest Showman, The Jungle Book, Lost Boys, Dirty Dancing and Peter’s Friends. 55:05

Jon Gwinnett – Some Kind Of Wonderful (possibly the most underrated John Hughes movie IMHO…) 55:11

John Glover – Gladiator or maybe Deerhunter 55:14

Sebastian Riemann – Django or maybe sing 2 55:20

Paul Stocks – Lost Boys… closely followed by Trainspotting. 55:23

Martha Lawton – “Ten Things I Hate About You” is pretty fun. 55:28

Kathryn Knowles, PhD – Dirty Dancing 55:31
